and then it was fall

yesterday was summer, albeit cloudy, dry, not even damp clouds...and today it will struggle to reach 60. the dead pastures and dusty dry lots seem to be not as dreary, it more like its okay to be so void of life since its colder....feeding hay now, have been since the end of July. hay bill will be larger and longer....Drifter and Mirage are already bored with it, seems like the little green snipits of grass went away soooo long ago, Drifter especially, he casts longing looks at what little green is left in the lawn....maybe Saturday will let them in the yard one last time....cats, well they are another story. they are jumping at grasshoppers, taking running swipes at each other and scratching up trees as fast as their little claws will propel them. yup, fur coats like under 80 degrees....
